On 13 December, the World Employment Confederation-Europe published its position on the European Pillar of Social Rights, responding to the Stakeholder Consultation launched early 2016.
The key messages of the position paper focus on:
- The role of the employment industry in enabling work, adaptation, security and prosperity.
- The need for labour market reforms to adapt to changing world of work and for lifting unjustified restrictions on agency work activities. Commenting on EU Directives and Regulations, the World Employment Confederation-Europe underlines that there is no need to revise these directives, but for a better implementation and enforcement.
- The importance of skills development and enhancement in an increasingly digital economy to meet future labour market needs.
- The innovative solutions of the employment industry in developing transferable and portable rights, providing for new forms of work security.
